I have kept in contact with Brittany's sister and here is the update--

"The concert was definitely successful, and we raised almost all of the money we needed short of a few thousand dollars, which is great. Many amazing people (strangers and friends/family) came out to show their support, and my family was overwhelmed by all of generosity and kindness! The music was really excellent as well, and I think we raised a lot of awareness about RSD/CRPS in general. We even got articles in a few local newspapers, which helped to bring more people out to the concert and a gentleman filmed the event. I wore your pin, and we sold those you donated and put up a sign explaining that you, too, suffer from this syndrome and make lots of jewelry to support awareness."

Recently, I became aware of this woman's CRPS/RSD journey and the fund raiser that her family is doing for her so that she can have the Ketamine IV. Below find information on this benefit fund-raiser.

We are holding a benefit concert for my sister, Brittany Fields, on January 13, 2011 from 7:00-9:30 PM at the Kelsey Theatre, which is located on Mercer County College's Main Campus in West Windsor, NJ. My sister, Brittany, who is 33 years old, suffers from full body RSD, and she is completely bedridden. My family needs to raise $15,000 in order to pay for her to receive an intensive Ketamine Infusion, which is not covered by insurance. The concert will consist of original rock music written by my father and performed by a variety of artists. My father played with many famous artists including Jimi Hendrix, Paul Butterfield, and The Chamber's Brothers, and 100% of the proceeds from the concert will go to Brittany's medical treatments. We will also be bringing in guest speakers and providing more information about RSD in order to raise awareness. For me, living this life of the chronic nerve pains of CRPS/RSD has taken on a different approach. I refuse to give in to this disease/syndrome whatever you chose to call IT as I didn't find IT; IT found me! Instead I live my life filled with HOPE and try my best to put the pains in the background. The Pain is NOT who I am nor Will IT ever be! I am a Christian; I am a woman, I am a wife; I am a daughter; I am a friend; I am an advocate for CRPS/RSD and lastly I am a patient! To help promote awareness for CRPS/RSD I have chosen to use my ABILITIES in a way that will touch many and that is in creating awareness jewelry, key chains, lapel pins and other type of jewelry. I design as I am able to and put my all in my creations. This helps me mentally to unwind my body soul and spirit. I am able to be fulfilled by the joys I give others and I am able to do something that I LOVE.

The delays in my blogging and posting additional jewelry designs have been due to the fact that since April I've been enduring some additional medical issues and having different tests done to rule things out. One thing I do know is that I've been enduring pains from a spastic colon all due to STRESS! Yes, that is one big word that many of us deal with especially when living and dealing with chronic pains. Tomorrow I go and have 2 additional tests with at least one biopsy being done for sure.

So that is the reason that I've been in the "quiet zone" lately.

This set consists of a Green Moss Stone Necklace and Bracelet with hints of black and etched silver beads to accent the variegated green stones with a green heart as the center focal.
